Cytomine back home at University of Liège

Following the end of CYTOMINE CORPORATION SA's commercial activities in July 2024, all the company's assets were taken over by the University of Liège (Belgium).

As part of its research and teaching missions, the University of Liège is taking back the lead on the development and maintenance of the Cytomine platform.

A big thank you to the former managers and employees of CYTOMINE CORPORATION SA for the great work they have done over the years, making Cytomine a key platform in the whole digital pathology ecosystem, and in image analysis using Artificial Intelligence in general.

Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, after a few months of uncertainty the Cytomine project is alive again, and the latest open source version Community Edition 2025.1 just went to be released on GitHub on April 23, 2025.

But the best is still to come, so stay tune on the Cytomine LinkedIn page for any information about the present or future of the Cytomine project, in teaching, research, or more. Do not hesitate to contact us if you want to be part of it.
